This immersive 7-year period cultivated his obsession with light, both natural and unnatural and informed the technical nature of his work. Preferring a minimalist approach, his love for beauty and cinema continues to fuel the romantic quality of his work for which he has become well known. Alongside his commercial and editorial work, his tenacious work ethic sees him shooting a multitude of ongoing personal projects for books and exhibitions. Vien works between Tokyo and Melbourne.
